The “Mighty Monkeys” is the name of the Pre-School Classroom in our Kittery/York site.  Children this age love to create (in fact, they created the name for their classroom.)  As teachers, we see it as our responsibility to listen to the children, and then support and encourage them in their interests and in developing the skills need to pursue these interests.  We base and continually adjust our curriculum to reflect these interests and the individual needs of the children in our classroom.  Some of our recent projects have included making paper mache moons, child sized rocket ships, finger painting, and more.  We have had a “Cave” in our room complete with a terrarium with salamanders and frogs.  And, at the heart of all of teaching is the need for the children to “play.”  Children learn how to problem solve, share, and learn skills and cooperation all while having fun!!
